Welcome to Spirits of Silver - a site dedicated to the art and craft of traditional silver-based photography. Here you will find images representing a wide range of photographic genere ranging from classical landscape photography to urban street and night photography; from the diffused and softly-focused image characteristic of the pictoralists, to the razor sharp image of the modernists as exemplified by Group f64. Similarily you will find images printed in a wide range of photographic syntaxes: from the salted paper process which dates back to the very birth of photography in the 1830's, to the silver gelatin and chromogenic C-print of today.
